Victoria's Cancer Action Plan

The Premier of Victoria has released Victoria's Cancer Action Plan to 2011 with the view to make sure that Victorians have access to the best possible cancer care...

Targets include:
By 2010 we will develop a service capability framework for cancer services that supports linked cancer treatment across metropolitan and regional cancer services;
We will develop standards for cancer clinical management systems to support multidisciplinary treatment planning, monitoring and discharge etc

Chemotherapy Education Modules:

Three education modules in chemotherapy administration have been developed by Ballarat Health Services CNHE department for
RN Div 1’s.

The modules have been developed in response to the increasing difficulty regional staff have in accessing education in chemotherapy which is based in metropolitan Melbourne.

New Allied Health Web-Based Training Package Launched

The Hon Nicola Roxon MP, Minister for Health and Ageing and The Hon Warren Snowdon MP
Minister for Indigenous Health, Rural and Regional Health and Regional Service Delivery have jointly released a web-based education and training package for allied health workers

The website contains a number of interesting modules including one on “translating evidence based practice” in a rural practice,and also has modules on confidentiality, clinical practice improvement, professional isolation etc
