Cancer support groups are designed to bring people together who have similar experiences due to their or their loved one’s diagnosis of cancer.
Research shows that cancer support groups benefit those with cancer and their families and carers by providing information, emotional support and practical assistance.
There are many support groups in the Grampians Region, some of which are open to people with any type of cancer. There are also support groups available over the phone or internet. The Cancer Council of Victoria’s website provides a comprehensive list of existing groups and advice about how to start a Cancer Support Group in your local area.
