Defining MDM, MDM Team, MDC

Care - refers to the whole process - for services providers / patients
Team - refers to the group of professionals with the implications that formulation of recommendations for presentation to the patients is a team based rather than individual practitioner based process - service providers / patients.
Meeting - traditionally this refers to a physical face to face meeting but with the development of video conference facilities and other technology this might involve a range of different models - for service providers / patients.

Where MDM's fit within the big picture..

Strategy for improving clinical services - ensure right treatment and support provided to all patients early no matter where they live in Victoria

Integrated approach to care - work together, multidisciplinary clinical treatment and care delivered through tumour streams.
