People Affected by Cancer

Education

Grampians Integrated Cancer Service(GICS) as an ICS have a mandate under the Victorian Cancer Action Plan (VCAP) to "improve the quality of cancer services through the consistent implementation and monitoring of evidence-based care." (Action Area 3, Priority 2)

Part of that mandate is met by increasing the accessibility of Professional Development and Education to health care professionals in the Grampians Region.  Multidisciplinary meetings present many opportunities for education about current best practise in the management of many cancers in this region.  In addition to these, GICS hosts local specialists in their field as well as inviting guest speakers from interstate and overseas to make the best current education available to the Grampian's cancer workforce.

From time to time, GICS provide funding for health care professionals to attend conferences and training both within and outside the region.  Please watch our Hot Topic and Health Care Professionals Education and News pages and Event calendar for opportunities.
