GICS' Current Projects
Information Sharing Project Plan
Promote the implementation of best practice models of care for all people affected by cancer.
Clinical Indicators Project Plan
Development of an agreed set of clinical guidelines for cancer referral and treatment in the Grampians utilizing
existing evidence based guidelines where appropriate.
Consumer Engagement Project Plan
Strengthen governance mechanisms for the planning and implementation of collaborative and integrated cancer services within the Grampians Region. Build the Consumer role in cancer service development and improvement.
Transport Project Plan
Build the Consumer role in cancer service development and improvement. Appoint a dedicated consumer advocate and establish a consumer working group to advise on how best to meet the needs of people affected by cancer, in particular those priorities identified in the GICS Consumer Report.
Supportive Care Project Plan
Continue to develop supportive care processes and services across the public and private sectors that are evidence-based, incorporate the latest information on survivorship, and fully utilize regional capacity
Education Project Plan
Education for health care professionals is a core component in the provision of high quality and safe cancer care - based on best practice and evidence based care.
Multi-Disciplinary Meeting Project Plan
- Improve efficiency of MDMs for GICS and clinicians
- Improve accuracy of data collection to help identify outcomes.
- Explore potential means to generate revenue to invest back into cancer services.
