Bowel Cancer Awareness month

Bowel Cancer Awareness month - June

Over 15,000 Australians will be diagnosed with Bowel Cancer each year with 200 of these people residing within the Grampians Region.

During the month of June GICS is promoting Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.  A promotional stand will be on display on the ground Floor of the BRICC, showcasing a variety of information relating to incidence, screening and early detection.  Bowel Cancer is a highly treatable disease when caught in its early stages.  The National Bowel Screening Program (NBSP) recommends screening every 2 years for people over the age of 50.

You may consider making this a focus in your health service this month, if you haven't already done so. Please contact Kerry Davidson for ideas and resources.

Bowel Cancer Screening kits are available to purchase at the BAROC administration desk for $15 per kit.
